Hooray, our latest drop of sartorial spirit-lifters has landed. Truly joyous, the Spring / Summer ’23 collection welcomes in the warmer months with a marvel of kaleidoscopic colour and pattern. Its abstract aesthetic draws influence from Bridget Riley, the iconic British artist known and loved for her bold op art paintings. Read on to find out more.
SPRING / SUMMER '23: BEHIND THE COLLECTION
LIFE OF RILEY
Bridget Riley was born in 1931 in London. She studied at the Royal College of Art, graduating in 1955. While her early paintings were of an Impressionistic style, she soon found an interest in Pointillism. Riley began to experiment with optical illusions, and by the early ‘60s, she was creating the clean-lined geometric paintings for which she is now known. Her affinity for colour and pattern is one the Chinti & Parker team can wholeheartedly relate to.
KALEIDOSCOPE COLOUR
The colour palette is predictably bright but always easy to wear. Think cobalt blue, mint, and cream, enlivened by pops of red, fuchsia, and lime. Knitted short-sleeve tops and button- through vests are accented by textural collars and plackets in cool contrasting hues. This season’s Essentials – in pure cashmere, of course – complement the shades of the main collection.
LIFE IS GOOD
When it comes to slogans, love still reigns. However, our favourite word is reimagined in a graphic new typeface and seen on an oversized T-shirt and jumper. Meanwhile, our new mantra ‘Life is good’ sets the upbeat tone for the season ahead.
